1. Overview
Brisbane Diesel provides a limited warranty on workmanship and selected parts supplied and installed by us. This warranty is provided strictly in accordance with the terms set out below and applies only to the specific works carried out.
These terms are intended to clearly define the scope of warranty coverage, limitations, and customer responsibilities.
By engaging Brisbane Diesel to carry out any inspection, diagnosis, repair, or maintenance, the customer acknowledges and agrees to be bound by these terms and conditions.
2. Workmanship Warranty
Brisbane Diesel warrants that all workmanship will be carried out with due care, skill, and in accordance with accepted industry standards.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, workmanship is covered for:
- 3 months, 5,000 kilometres, or 250 operational hours (whichever occurs first)
This warranty:
- Applies strictly to the original scope of work performed
- Does not extend to unrelated components, systems, or subsequent failures
- Does not guarantee that the repair will prevent future faults in the same or related systems
For major repairs or high-value component replacements, Brisbane Diesel may, at its sole discretion, provide an extended workmanship warranty. Any such extension must be confirmed in writing and will apply only to the specified works.
3. Parts Warranty
All parts supplied by Brisbane Diesel are subject to the warranty provided by the original manufacturer or supplier.
Customers acknowledge and agree that:
- Warranty terms vary depending on the supplier and part type
- Brisbane Diesel does not provide any additional or separate warranty beyond that offered by the manufacturer unless expressly stated in writing
- All parts warranty claims are subject to supplier assessment, approval, and processing timeframes
Brisbane Diesel is not responsible for delays associated with supplier warranty processes.
4. Warranty Claim Process
To initiate a warranty claim, the customer must:
- Notify Brisbane Diesel as soon as the issue becomes apparent
- Provide full details of the concern, including any relevant history or events
- Cease operating the vehicle or equipment where continued use may cause further damage
- Make the vehicle or equipment available for inspection at a time and location nominated by Brisbane Diesel
Brisbane Diesel reserves the right to:
- Inspect and diagnose the issue prior to determining warranty eligibility
- Conduct all testing and inspection procedures deemed necessary
- Require the vehicle or equipment to be returned to our workshop or another approved location
Failure to comply with this process may result in the warranty claim being declined.
5. Business Hours & Availability for Warranty Works
Warranty inspections and repairs are carried out during standard business hours:
- Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 4:00pm
Where a customer requests urgent or after-hours attendance:
- Brisbane Diesel may attend at its discretion
- If the claim is accepted as warranty, only the difference between standard rates and applicable after-hours rates will be charged
- If the claim is not accepted as warranty, all labour, travel, and associated costs will be charged at applicable rates
Brisbane Diesel does not guarantee immediate availability for warranty work and will schedule attendance based on operational capacity.
6. Assessment of Warranty Claims
All warranty claims are subject to full inspection, testing, and assessment.
A claim will only be accepted where Brisbane Diesel determines that:
- The issue is directly attributable to our workmanship, or
- The issue is covered under an applicable manufacturer’s warranty
If a claim is rejected, including where the issue is:
- Unrelated to prior works
- Due to wear and tear or external factors
- Caused by third-party involvement
- Outside supplier warranty scope
Then:
- All labour, diagnostics, travel, and parts associated with the inspection and repair will be fully chargeable to the customer
7. Exclusions – What Is Not Covered

The following are not covered under any warranty:
- Normal wear and tear
- Pre-existing faults not included in the original scope of works
- Failures unrelated to the work performed
- Lack of maintenance or servicing
- Failure to follow manufacturer recommendations
Wearing Components
Warranty does not apply to components subject to normal wear, including but not limited to:
- Brake components
- Clutches
- Filters
- Belts
- Seals
- Fluids and consumables
External Causes
- Misuse, abuse, or negligent operation
- Overloading or incorrect application
- Environmental exposure including dust, water, or contamination

Third-Party Work
- Any work, modification, or adjustment carried out by a third party after Brisbane Diesel’s work
- Installation of incompatible or non-genuine components by others
Modified Vehicles or Equipment
- Vehicles or machinery with performance modifications, non-standard tuning, or altered operating parameters
- Failures where such modifications contribute directly or indirectly to the issue
8. Consequential & Secondary Failures
Customers acknowledge that mechanical and diesel systems are interconnected and often operate under variable conditions.
Following repairs:
- Previously worn, aged, or marginal components may fail
- Changes in system pressure, load, or performance may expose underlying weaknesses
- New faults may become apparent that were not present or detectable prior to repair
Examples include (but are not limited to):
- Oil leaks developing after resealing or pressure changes
- Cooling system failures following repair work
- Electrical faults in ageing wiring or connectors
Such failures are considered consequential or unrelated and are not covered under warranty.
9. Diagnostic Work & Limitations
All diagnostic time is chargeable unless confirmed otherwise in writing.
Customers acknowledge that:
- Diagnostics are based on available evidence at the time
- Some faults cannot be identified without further dismantling or testing
- Additional faults may arise during or after repairs
Brisbane Diesel does not guarantee:
- That all faults will be identified during initial diagnosis
- That a single repair will resolve all issues
Further diagnostic work and repairs may be required and will be chargeable unless accepted as warranty.
10. Strip, Inspect & Hidden Damage Clause
Where work requires dismantling, strip-down, or invasive inspection:
- Additional damage, wear, or defects may be identified
- These issues may not have been visible or diagnosable beforehand
The customer acknowledges:
- All additional repairs identified during strip-down are chargeable
- No assumption of warranty applies to newly identified faults
- Brisbane Diesel is not responsible for the economic viability of repair once dismantling has commenced
No guarantee is given that dismantling will result in a repairable outcome.
11. No Guarantee of Outcome
Due to the complexity of modern diesel systems and high kilometre or heavily utilised equipment:
- Brisbane Diesel does not guarantee that any repair will fully resolve all faults
- Repairs are based on the most probable cause at the time of diagnosis
- Further or unrelated issues may arise following repair
Customers acknowledge that multiple stages of repair may be required and that prior work does not guarantee future performance or reliability.
12. Customer-Supplied Parts
Where parts are supplied by the customer:
- No warranty is provided on those parts
- Labour warranty applies strictly to installation workmanship only
- Brisbane Diesel accepts no responsibility for part failure or resulting damage
Any additional labour required due to defective or incorrect parts will be chargeable.
13. Field Service & Location of Works
Warranty inspections and repairs may be carried out:
- At Brisbane Diesel’s workshop, or
- At a site nominated by Brisbane Diesel at its discretion
Where field service is required:
- Travel charges may apply depending on the nature of the claim
- Brisbane Diesel reserves the right to determine the most appropriate method of repair
14. Payment Terms & Warranty Rights
All invoices must be paid in accordance with agreed terms.
To the extent permitted by law:
- Brisbane Diesel reserves the right to suspend, delay, or refuse warranty work where accounts are overdue
- Warranty claims may not be processed until outstanding amounts are resolved
15. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- Brisbane Diesel’s liability is limited to the rectification of the original work performed
- Liability will not exceed the value of the original invoice for the relevant works
Brisbane Diesel is not liable for:
- Loss of income or business interruption
- Downtime or operational delays
- Towing, recovery, or transport costs unless agreed in writing
- Any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses
16. Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any rights or remedies available under the Australian Consumer Law.
Where applicable, Brisbane Diesel will comply with all statutory guarantees.
17. Acceptance of Terms
By engaging Brisbane Diesel to perform any work, the customer:
- Confirms they have read and understood these terms
- Accepts and agrees to be bound by them in full
